Greetings, Members!

Two Dances have been held since the last letter. The Fishers and Hunters advised that their dance on January 26^th was a great success and the food was excellent. Of course, the Golden Keys kept everyone on their toes. Our Valentines’ Dance was also enjoyed by all who attended. I could not be there myself, but was told the Hall was beautifully decorated. Let’s give a hand to the Decorating Committee who works so diligently on our behalf!

We have once again arranged a terrific evening of entertainment for you on Tuesday, April 22^nd. If you enjoyed the Hansi Kiesler Show last year, you will love this one also. The group is the “Ansbachtaler”; you may have seen the poster in our hall or around town at a Denninger Store. Tickets are $20.00 per person for the show, or $30.00 per person for the show with dinner. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00. Please call Anneliese Höpp at 905-634-8918 right away for your tickets, they will sell out fast.

We are also looking for accommodations for the 12 show members for two nights. Anyone able to help out, please call Arno Risse at 905-528-5245.

Our General Meeting and Elections are fast approaching. On Sunday April 13^th you will elect a new Executive Committee. Be sure to attend and make your vote count. Also, consider becoming a member of the Executive yourself, so our functions can continue for many years to come. The list for Executive Candidates is up on the Hubertuskeller door and needs your name on it. This is your opportunity to give back something to the club by using your particular talent and becoming an Executive member. I’m sure some of the new members who have joined recently have all kinds of talent just waiting to be used. How about it?

There are still 34 members who have not paid their dues. Due to stricter government regulations, all dues must be paid by the end of October each year. If you do not wish to remain a member, please give a courtesy call to Käthe Pfeffer, 905-389-1070 so she can keep accurate records. Otherwise, make arrangements to pay and keep your membership in good standing. The 2007 card has expired.

We again have new members! Please welcome Ingrid Oppermann and Friedel Meinert to our midst!

The Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet again on February 27^th at 1:00 p.m. Please call Helga Schopf at 905-664-6254 should you have any questions or would like to join.

The Fishers and Hunters meet on the first Friday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Hubertuskeller.

The Choir practices every Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.

John Cekr, our “Movie Guy” would like everyone to know how pleased he is with your attendance at the Sunday movie presentations. Have a look at the enclosed movie lineup and bring a friend for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon. And, as the saying goes, behind every great man there is a woman. John’s wife Lori works tirelessly along with him, serving cake and coffee, seating people, sometimes directing traffic in the parking lot, and generally helping wherever necessary. I think it’s important to acknowledge people like her who work quietly in the background, but without whom we could not be successful. Thank you, Lori!
