Greetings, Members!

Our Oktoberfest Dance was a sellout, and a success as usual. The Swingmasters kept us on our toes as usual also. Not bad dancing considering so many of us have white hair.

As of today, it is exactly two months till Christmas Eve…

There is still a chance to book your children or grandchildren for the Children’s Christmas Party being held on December 2^nd at 1:00 p.m. Please call Ursula Hoffmann at 905-664-4916 for the details. A donation of a cake or cookies for children “young and old” would be appreciated.

The Membership Meeting will take place on Sunday, November 11^th at 2:00 p.m. If you have suggestions or concerns, this is the time to present them. Please be prepared to show your membership card when you come to any club function. If you do not yet have your 2008 card, you may purchase it at this time also, as the 2007 card expires on October 31^st.

The following members should be sure to attend as they will receive their membership pins.

Sadly, two of our members have passed away. Our condolences go out to their families and friends. Mr. Hans Ickas passed away on October 10^th and Mr. Cyriel Ondrus in September.

Our choir practices every Monday at 7:30 p.m. New members would be most welcome. If you would like to join, please call Fred Huber at 905-337-2991 for details.

The Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet again on Oct 31^st at 1:00 p.m. Please call Helga Schopf at 905-664-6254 should you have any questions or would like to join.

A flower vase belonging to someone who had a banquet at out club has gone missing. It is a ceramic vase, ivory colour, about 18-24” tall with angels on either side. If you have somehow taken it in error, please return it to the club. It was a gift from a person now deceased, and irreplaceable to the owner. The club is responsible for returning it to its rightful owner.

Reservations are already coming in for New Years Eve, so make yours early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are $60.00 per person for members and $70.00 for nonmembers.

As usual, there will also be a Midnight Buffet.

We would like to remind everyone who parks in the lot, please have the front of the car facing the building. Otherwise the car exhaust may enter the building through the windows.

Käthe Pfeffer would like to advise that she has only 10 tickets left for the Matinee performance of “White Christmas” at the Hummingbird Centre. The price of show, bus and dinner is $98.00 per person. Call her right away at 905-389-1070 if you would like to attend.

On December 6^th, she has arranged a bus trip to the Christmas Bazaar in Kitchener. Transportation only, $25.00 per person.
