Cake Decorating Demonstration

 

At our last Ontario Pastry Chef's Guild meeting, Geraldine Randlesome and her daughter Nikki, gave us again a sample of her artistry with cakes at the Lentia office.

 

She demonstrated how a rolled-out sheet of fondant can be impressed with her impression mat - which she herself designed. The clever use of brushed silver or gold dust gives a unique pattern.

 

After being place over a cake, the sides were trimmed with the help of a half-round template. Each part was then decorated in a different style to show the many different ways of finishing the cake design.

 

Fred took the pictures shown below to show the members and non members what they missed at this very interesting and enlightening presentation.
