The Stonemill "We Bake While You Shop" concept is a free-standing and turnkey-kiosk, operated under a license or franchise agreement.

The essential elements are Stonemill's developed "InstaBake" process and Stonemill's exclusive "InstaDough" line of products. The combination of our "InstaBake" process and "InstaDough" products allow you to bake consistent quality – from the freezer to the consumer – in 15 to 30 min. The proofing stage is eliminated and the baking stage is fully automated.

Our concept creates an atmosphere of quality, appetite appeal, and freshness. The concept differentiates you, the retailer, from the competition. Further, it makes you a "freshness expert."

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The Stonemill Kiosk is primarily designed for high traffic locations that generate fresh food sales.

The current weakness in the in-store baking industry provides an opportunity for baking retailers, supermarkets, and restaurants to introduce an oven fresh baking concept that offers superior quality, freshness, variety, taste, merchandising, salesmanship, and staff training.

As the population’s age increases, consumers become more health conscious by replacing white flour products with nutritious whole wheat and multi-grain products. According to the Canadian Grocer Executive Report, sales have increased in the nutritious portable foods by 15%. In addition to the health trends, consumers have become more sophisticated.

Ongoing Canadian demographic changes are an additional positive factor for the Stonemill Bakehouse "We Bake While You Shop" concept.

THE PRODUCT

 

Wholesome Stonemill breads start with certified, organically grown whole grains, and untreated unbleached flour. Stonemill bread dough is prepared with the finest natural ingredients. The dough for each bread, bun, and bagel is weighed, formed, and pre-molded to a perfect shape. Next, the product is dipped in seeds, and then flash-frozen for packaging and shipping to retail outlets.

 

Acclaimed Swiss freezing technology locks in the natural flavors of the dough. The full flavor and aroma is released during the baking process that takes place in full view of the customer. Stonemill whole-grain breads are high in complex carbohydrates and low in fats. They are a good source of many essential nutrients such as iron and B-vitamins. Countless international studies identify the increased consumption of whole-grain foods as critical for good physical and mental health.

BACKGROUND 

 

In a 1994 study the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) found that the trend for more natural foods has been on the increase. In the study, 61% of the respondents state that they eat more bran and other high-fiber foods than in the past. These trends represent a solid market base for the Stonemill Bakehouse products.

 

Health Canada agrees with the nutrition experts that healthy eating includes 5 to 12 servings of high-fiber, whole-grain breads every day. Around the world, bread is still the dominant and least expensive source of complex carbohydrates, essential vitamins, and nutrients.
